FileOpener is an application designed to extract zipped or compressed files. It supports most of archive formats, including .rar, .zip, .jar, .arc, .hpx, .lzh, and .cab.
The program's interface is neither attractive nor unpleasant.
The tool works pretty fast. However, it would be more convenient, if you could decompress multiple files at once. I intended to add more than one archive to the working area, but without any success; each time, a single file remained selected. Another drawback would be that the program doesn't provide an option for opening the output file automatically. You need to search for it manually.
In short, this is a light and easy-to-use application for decompressing various archive types. It is created for custom users who happen to deal occasionally with archives and who don't want to spend money for advanced options.
Pros
- Easy-to-use app
- Little resource consumer
- Works fast
- It is free
Cons
- The uncompressed files are not opened automatically; you need to browse for them when unzipping ends
- No option for batch process
A good replacement of software like 7zip and Rar with decent graphics. :pardon:
